{"id":29256,"date":"2024-06-21T07:40:20","date_gmt":"2024-06-21T07:40:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alliedforces.eu\/?p=29256"},"modified":"2024-06-25T07:35:07","modified_gmt":"2024-06-25T07:35:07","slug":"song-of-the-day-the-coldest-heart-cemetery-skyline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alliedforces.eu\/en\/song-of-the-day-the-coldest-heart-cemetery-skyline\/","title":{"rendered":"Song of the day: \u00abThe Coldest Heart\u00bb by Cemetery Skyline"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We had previously told you about <strong>Cemetery Skyline<\/strong> on some occasions, this new gothic rock\/metal project formed by <strong>Mikael Stanne<\/strong> (Dark Tranquillity, The Halo Effect, Grand Cadaver) on vocals, <strong>Markus Vanhala <\/strong>(Insomniu, \u00d3mnium Gatherum) on guitar, <strong>Santeri Kallio<\/strong> (Amorphis) on keyboards, <strong>Victor Brandt<\/strong> (Dimmu Borgir, Witchery) on bass guitar and <strong>Vesa Ranta<\/strong> (The Abbey, Sentenced) on drums. They debuted in April with the release of their spectacular single <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/alliedforces.eu\/en\/cemetery-skyline-debut-song-violent-storm\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"29075\">Violent Storm<\/a><\/em><\/strong> and since then they have released two new songs, <strong><em>In Darkness<\/em><\/strong> and the most recent one that is part of our \u00ab<em>song of the day<\/em>\u00bb section, <strong>The Coldest Heart<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00ab<em>This song deals with the endless need for validation and misguided desperation. It is based on some dramatic experiences I had in recent times that ended with incarceration. It spells out its darkness in all its loveless splendor<\/em>\u00ab, says vocalist <strong>Michael Stanne<\/strong> about <strong><em>The Coldest Heart<\/em><\/strong>. In a way we can say that the song manages to convey that feeling of loneliness and sadness thanks to the great work of its members. \u00ab<em>The Coldest Heart&#8217; is one of the very first songs written for Cemetery Skyline and it is an obvious tribute to &#8216;The Green Man&#8217;, but in a very gentleman way. It is a heavy hitter for a gloomy summer hit in 2024<\/em>\u00ab, adds guitarist <strong>Markus Vanhala<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The band will make their live debut this summer at the Finnish festival <strong>John Smith Rock Festival<\/strong> which will take place from August 18th to August 20th, 2024 in Laukaa.
