Sunlord<\/a> <\/strong>is a heavy\/speed band born in 2004 in New York City by the Argentine guitarist and vocalist Alfonso Ferrazza<\/strong> who in the beginning began covering songs by Pantera <\/strong>and Slayer <\/strong>but with the passage of time and after making some cash they managed to release his own songs, resulting in three studio albums to date after several line-up changes over time. I met them as the opening act for Yngwie Malmsteen <\/strong>at Sony Hall in New York back in 2021, their raw sound and energetic staging captivated me from the first minute so I couldn’t help but get a vinyl and CD copy of their latest album to date, 222<\/em><\/strong>, released in 2020 by the band itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time I bought the album I was was traveling through the United States and I had to wait until I was back home to be able to listen to 222 <\/em><\/strong>with my full attention, but I remember perfectly the moment when I put the needle on the A-side<\/em> of the album and the catchy The Vigilante<\/em><\/strong> started playing through the speakers. I wanted to investigate the rest of the albums released by Sunlord <\/strong>but unfortunately I didn’t find much on the streaming platforms so I had to turn to other platforms where some internet users had posted live videos performing songs from their two previous works, The First One<\/em><\/strong> (2013) and Burning Saint <\/em><\/strong>(2015), all of them released by the band themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now luckily I can listen to The First One<\/em><\/strong> and 222 <\/em><\/strong>on Spotify in my country, which has led me to discover the debut album of the New York trio properly. But today I want to start this new section in Allied Forces<\/strong> with one of my favorite songs from their latest album titled Asteroid<\/em><\/strong>, probably one of the most powerful that we can find on 222 <\/em><\/strong>and that I could easily classify as my favorite from Sunlord<\/strong>. The powerful guitar riff and the voice of his alma mater Alfonso Ferrazza<\/strong> make Asteroid one of the most addictive songs on an already addictive album where everything seems to fit together perfectly. You can find it on Spotify and YouTube for a few months, so it’s time to make way for the song in question:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
