The GRAMMY award-winning band, who also celebrate its 25th anniversary, recorded <strong><em>Cometh The Storm<\/em><\/strong> at <strong>GodCity Studio<\/strong> in Salem, Massachusetts with producer <strong>Kurt Ballou<\/strong>. Their ninth studio album composed by 11 new studio songs marks the release of the first new <strong>High On Fire<\/strong> music since 2018&#8217;s <strong><em>Electric Messiah<\/em><\/strong> and the first to feature drummer <strong>Coady Willis<\/strong> (Big Business, Murder City Devils), alongside bassist <strong>Jeff Matz<\/strong> and guitarist\/vocalist <strong>Matt Pike<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can listen to their new song <strong><em>Burning Down<\/em><\/strong> below whose video was directed by <strong>Lars Kristoffer Hormander<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"High On Fire - Burning Down (Official Music Video)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MJ9yIWBb4pY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00ab<em>Burning Down kicks off with a classic Pike riff<\/em>\u00ab, says <strong>Jeff Matz<\/strong> . \u00ab<em>I think this song harkens back to the early High On Fire sound, but infused with fresh, new elements. It has a killer groove that you can really sink into. The body of the song took shape in our PNW rehearsal space, and we came up with the bridge\/solo section and finalized the arrangement while we were at GodCity. Kurt Ballou&#8217;s input as a producer was also hugely helpful. His keen ears and fresh perspective were invaluable in making this album<\/em>\u00ab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Matt Pike<\/strong> states: \u00ab<em>I think this band&#8217;s always had a really good drive. It&#8217;s a different entity. It&#8217;s its own thing. Which, I think, makes all of us very proud to be a part of it. It&#8217;s not an average band<\/em>\u00ab, while <strong>Willis <\/strong>says: \u00ab<em>Being a fan of each other&#8217;s bands for a long time, it feels like all bets are off and anything goes which is a liberating feeling,\u00bb shares Willis . \u00abThat feeling of making something out of all of these imperfect parts and it becomes this magical, weird, new idea that none of us ever anticipated.
