But on their new album, the daring and deadly French architects spin razor-sharp riffs and precision blast beats into a truly legendary tale. <strong>Exocrine <\/strong>are locked and loaded on Legend. <strong><em>Eidolon<\/em><\/strong> fires off laser-guided riffs and a bass that grooves with all the flattening force of a tank. \u00ab<em>I will rise and your ashes hollow!<\/em>\u00bb the band shout in unison on \u00ab<em>Life, as if charging into battle behind a hail of blast beats<\/em>\u00ab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But for all its metallic might, <strong><em>Legend <\/em><\/strong>flexes just as much brain power. What they came up with reads more like a blockbuster film. Legend combines the most fantastical elements of Warhammer, Mad Max and Kaiju. The story follows the intersecting paths of three characters: a knight, a godlike destroyer and an immortal man. What unfolds between them is a Dante-like confrontation that tests just how much they&#8217;re willing to sacrifice in order to secure their place in the universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00ab<em>This is our most personal album<\/em>\u00ab, <strong>Exocrine <\/strong>says. \u00ab<em>We decided to go back to something more organic, with more relief, and tried different things in order to bring a stronger atmosphere and connect the music with the story. Over the past 30 years, the French duo have been dreaming up an abrasive-but-hypnotic blend of industrial rock, post-punk and dark wave. The videos for the first two singles off their upcoming fifth album, Autophagie, dropped immersed audiences in a cinematic fever dream that would give David Lynch nightmares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The band launched the announcement of this upcoming album with the hypnotic eponymous title track <strong><em>Autophagie <\/em><\/strong>back in November last year, with a captivating music video.
